On June 22, 2013 Kutaisi University hosted a delegation from the Ukraine consisting of Prof. Yevhen Sulima, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Rector of Donetsk State University of Management Prof. Alexander Povazhni with his wife.
The aim of the visit was to conclude an agreement on cooperation between Kutaisi University and Donetsk State University of Management. The memorandum was signed by Prof. Lela Kelbakiani, the Rector of Kutaisi University and Prof. Alexander Povazhni, the Rector of Donetsk State University of Management.
The memorandum envisages implementing joint projects and organizing joint conferences, sharing experience and knowhow as well as organizing cultural events, symposia, seminars and summer schools.
The guests showed great interest in the history of Kutaisi University, in visiting university classrooms, laboratories and the library. They got acquainted with the scientific journal published by the university “Economic Profile” as well as our international agreements and the information on our participation in Tempus Tasis Joint European Project activities. The quests expressed their approval of Kutaisi University museum and left their impressions in the special book.
During their stay the guests had a chance to visit the city sights, familiarize themselves with the history of Georgia, walk in the rehabilitated central part of Kutaisi and see the restored Bagrati Cathedral.
